Does PDF compression reduce visual quality?
Our smart compression algorithm preserves text and vector graphics quality while only cleaning up unnecessary data. In high-quality mode the difference is barely noticeable.
What's the maximum compression I can achieve?
Depending on file content, compression of up to 90% is possible. Image-heavy PDFs can be compressed at higher ratios than text-heavy ones.
Does the compressed PDF keep its password protection?
Yes, existing password protection and permission settings are preserved during compression. Your security measures stay exactly as they were.
Which compression level should I choose?
Use light compression when quality matters most, balanced for everyday sharing, and maximum when file size is the priority — for example, attaching a large scanned document to an email.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. PDF processing happens in your browser or in the iOS app on your device. Your documents are not sent to our servers for processing.
Is there a mobile app?
Yes. The Pofide iOS app is available on the App Store. It includes the free plan; paid plans are available for additional use.
What PDF file size is supported?
There is no file size limit. Very large files may take longer depending on your device and browser.
